Environmental Mold and Mycotoxin Assessment
EMMA was developed by Real Time Labs as a specialized mycotoxin panel. It can be added to a mold Fungal Count DX mold test also by Real Time Lab to include a wide panel of identification. Real Time Lab also offers a urine analysis mycotoxin panel you can have ordered through your doctor making this the first mold / mycotoxin analysis for both your environment and body.
The EMMA Combo test uses sensitive molecular detection technology to look for the presence of 12 of the most toxigenic molds. It determines their presence and relative abundance. Mycotoxin Test identifies 16 common and most toxic mycotoxins, including 9 Macrocyclic Trichothecenes produced by the “Black Mold”, Stachybotrys. Testing is simple, only requiring small amounts of dust or material from AC or heater filters.
In addition to the Mycotoxin panel, the Fungal Count DX test looks for 12 different species of mold that produce toxins. The Fungal Count Dx can help you determine the amount of mold in your home. Every home has mold, but not every mold is present. Some molds are more dangerous than others. The test can help gauge the importance of seeking professional opinions or assisting in the home buying process.This test is a DNA based method of reporting the identity and quantity of molds. The sample is analyzed using mold-specific quantitative polymerase chain reaction (MSQPCR).
